Beauty Bar, Parisian Style

By Francesca Claybrook

Picture this:  you’re strolling along the Champs-Elysees when you look down and realize, zut!  Your nail polish is chipped.  How can you fix it?  The Pavillon de la Reine, one of Paris’s poshest hotels located in the Place des Vosages, has the answer for the jet-setting girl in need of some beauty maintenance.  The hotel now offers a beauty bar on Saturdays in their library.  Here, you can look through books and enjoy a working fireplace while your nails dry.  Instead of sitting under a dryer wondering how much longer it will take, I guarantee I’d be wishing my nails would dry very slowly.  In addition, you can partake in champagne and croissants during the experience.  And although it sounds like this kind of treatment would be pretty pricey, it’s actually very reasonable:  for 25 Euros (about $33) you can enjoy the nail bar, which is open to the public, with no reservations required.  Check out the hotel spa’s website here for more information on their other services as well.
