Backstage at Fashion Week: Q&A with Cutler’s Anthony Campbell

By Francesca Claybrook

Backstage at Kaelen, we also had the chance to catch up with Anthony Campbell, editorial stylist for Cutler, about the hairstyles the models were given.  Each model had three cornrows on the left side, and a deep left side part.  All the hair was collected into one big soft braid over on the right side, with lots of texture throughout.

BellaVitaStyle: What was the inspiration for the hair at this show?

Anthony Campbell: It’s Mexican-inspired, rock n’ rollish, but softer.  Kaelen gave us the ideas, but we constructed the look.

BVS: How long does each model take?

AC: It only takes about 15 – 20 minutes if you know how to cornrow, and there are 20 girls to do.

BVS: What are the major hair trends on the runways this season?

AC: This season the rest of the hair is cleaner; this show is a bit messier than the norm.  ‘70s inspired looks are definitely back.
