What You Need Now: Lace

Lace is everywhere this fall, and in so many varieties it’s hard to keep track of them all. Celebrities like Michelle Williams and Kim Kardashian(pictured in Georges Hobeika) have been spotted in lace dresses on the red carpet, and the fabric is popping up in non-traditional colors (like Williams’ red lace dress) and non-traditional places (like shoes). The best part about a fabric like lace is that you can wear as much or as little as you like, depending on how into the trend you are. If you love lace, you could try a dress with a lot of lace on it, but if you’re not so sure you can pull this fabric off, you could do a lace top and cover it with a blazer or sweater so the look is a little more subdued. But my favorite way to wear lace these days is on your feet. I mentioned lace shoes, but the look has really taken off – you can find lace on flats, pumps, booties, and even lace-patterned rain boots! All-over lace can be a hard look to do right, but this way you have free rein over your clothes and can just display a hint of elegant lace on your feet.
